Some additional services such as extended consultations or specialist referrals may incur a gap fee — your GP will always advise you of any costs before proceeding.
Can I get a weight loss medication prescription through this service?
Our GPs can assess your suitability for the prescription weight loss medications available in Australia. Prescriptions are only issued where clinically appropriate following a thorough medical assessment. Not all patients will be suitable — your GP will discuss your options during your consultation.
Do I need a referral?
No referral is required. You can book directly through our platform. Our GPs are general practitioners — you can access them directly without needing a letter from another doctor.

How does a telehealth weight loss consultation work?
After requesting an appointment, you'll complete a short pre-consultation health questionnaire. Your GP consultation takes place via secure video call — typically 15-30 minutes. Your GP will review your health history, discuss your goals and recommend an appropriate treatment plan. Any prescriptions are sent electronically to your preferred pharmacy.
Is telehealth as effective as an in-person GP visit for weight loss?
For the majority of weight loss consultations — including medication assessments, medication management and treatment planning — telehealth is equally effective to an in-person visit. Some situations may require in-person assessment, and your GP will advise you if this applies to your case.
What does the medication cost?
Your GP consultation is bulk billed for eligible Medicare card holders. Weight loss medications themselves are paid separately at your pharmacy — typically $150–$350 per month depending on the medication and dose. Your GP will discuss costs with you before prescribing.
What Medicare card do I need?
You will need a current Australian Medicare card to access bulk billed consultations. Patients without a Medicare card can still access our services but may incur a consultation fee. Your GP will confirm this during booking.
